Jewelry ... some ideas :)

Here's some jewelry I made for Aracne.

Just some easy to do necklaces Smile

As Aracne is on vacation (She's gonna have a new kimono soon) I had to model them using my fingers XD

The Teardrop pendant.

You only need 2 bits of brass chain, 1 brass ring and a swarovski teardrop (mine is a burgundy red one). You can use anything as a pendant. The chain and rings were bought on jewelry supplies stores (I use to buy online at perles&co)

Cut the chain in 2 pieces, one a bit bigger than the other one (a couple links bigger). Use the brass ring to make 2 loops of the brass chain with the teardrop in the middle.
(easy, wasn't it?)

As the pictures here were shot with bad light conditions and an iphone, here's a link of that same necklace when I tried it on Aracne:

Unfortunately I don't have better pics of the other necklaces XD

The chained heart

Really another twist of the teardrop...
For this one I used silver chain, 2 silver rings and a silver stop (looks like a needle, just without a sharp end. it's used also in jewelry). If you can't find one, just use a bit of wire and fold it on one side to create a knot or something to stop the heart from falling.

Again, cut the chain in two pieces, but this time one should be bigger enough to fit on the neck, and the other one way bigger so it falls over the neck freely (check the pic). Now cut each chain in two. Use the rings to join all of them, so you have a ring in the back, one ring in the front, with the chains linking both. Place the stop wire on the heart (this one if from a cheap 1€ shop, came with a set of colorful cheap pieces of jewelry) and make a couple loops on the top. Place the heart between the long chains in the front.

This necklace looks horrible anywhere but in the doll's neck. You'll need to adjust it so it looks like that Smile

The chained choker

This is the most complex one and the one I like the best (I love chokers!)

You'll need a small bit of a black suede cloth. A small bit of clothing elastic rubber. A bit of silver chain. Cheap earrings XD

First you'll need to sew the choker. Cut a piece of black sueded cloth as long as your doll's neck and a bit more. Twice the height of the choke you want to do, and at least enough so the clothing elastic fits inside, plus a bit more (for sewing).Place the cloth upside down, fold in the middle to create a "tube", then sew the larger side.
Turn the "tube" inside out so the suede is on the outside and the sewing is hidden on the inside. Roll it on your fingers so the seam is placed on the inner side of the tube, in the place it'll be in contact with your doll's skin.
Mark the middle of the tube and sew the earring. (Mine was bigger, I used a dremel drill to remove parts of it)
Now sew the chains. They look nice if you sew them loose. Mines are placed on the sides and joined over the earring.
Now cut the clothing elastic rubber (can't explain the name better, check the picture of the back of the choker... sometimes is hard to find the right words when english is not your native language) so it's a bit smaller than your doll's neck (this will make it fit perfectly). Now place the rubber inside the chocker (you'll need to stretch it a bit so you can sew both ends together). To hide the sewing, move it inside the choker so the sewed part is hidden inside.

Doesn't it look great?

Now some tips: Visit the $1 or 1€ shops. They use to have those cheap plastic kits for making jewelry and you'll find really nice bits to play with. Also some cheap earrings will give you some ideas (even you can use them as necklaces sometimes) and check out those cheap necklaces made of small pieces like stones, seeds, metallic flowers, whatever. They can give you lots of pieces to play with at almost no cost!
